Hey y’all,
I’m in SF this week to work with my team IRL, so this note will be short & sweet with just 10 things I’d like to share with you.
10 Things I Recommend:
What Alcohol Does to Your Brain, Body, & Health – Huberman Lab
This podcast has been doing the rounds lately and for good reason! It’s not surprising that alcohol is bad for your health, but the impact it can have even if you’re a casual drinker was surprising to me. Even more reason to keep trying out new non-alcoholic options. Like…
I first tried Tepache, a fermented pineapple drink, while in Mexico where it was served in a plastic bag straight out of a barrel. De La Calle makes a canned version in a bunch of different flavors (Mango Chili is my fave so far) and can usually be found at Whole Foods.
I took my very first adult ballet class through the Pacific Northwest Ballet and I’m fully obsessed. It was a diverse group of beginning ballerinas and the instructor made us all feel very comfortable with our entry-level skills. If you’re in Seattle and want to go to a class with me, let me know!
Went here last week for a lil date to co-create a candle with my boyfriend. It was a super fun and collaborative process… although I did veto the baked bread scent he picked (it just smelled like butter).
For those not in Seattle, this is a new, refillable candle company I just discovered on TikTok. You set up your candle by filling it with wax beads and once they burn down, you pop out the remaining wax + wick from the reusable insert, refill with new wax beads, and start using it again. It’s pretty affordable and would make for a great gift too!
My favorite backpack company is pivoting and has to get rid of all their inventory, so everything is 60% off until the end of today! I grabbed one of their mini packs and a bunch of the reusable bags for gifts.
ADHD memes
I’m in a mentorship program right now and my mentor suggested I take this assessment to discover my top 3 saboteurs. I’ve done many of these kinds of exercises over the years, but this one was well-designed and thought out. You do have to enter your email to get your results, but I think it’s worth it and you can unsubscribe directly from the email they send you.
Dance Dance Revolution
As a team bonding activity, we went to an arcade called Emporium which had a double DDR machine that was the highlight of my night. I was reminded of the many sweaty hours playing DDR at home with my friends and siblings and sliding around on the plastic pads while we tried to work our way up to the toughest and highest BPM songs.
Lisbon & Porto, Portugal
This isn’t a recommendation per se, but an open call for them! I’m going to Portugal with my brother in October for just under 2 weeks and would love to hear any faves or must-do’s while we’re there. Drop it in the comments or reply to this email 🙃
Emails are difficult for me to respond to these days, so if you reply to this email, it might take me some time to get back to you (but I will, eventually!). If you have something you’d like to share, I recommend dropping it in the comments!
